Caney Bottom Lodge offers traditional upland bird hunts for your next bird hunting experience.  Mother Nature cannot produce the number of birds we harvest each year; therefore,  we have to supplement the shortfall. To make up for the shortcomings, we have done extensive research and found a supplier who provides the best birds in the country.  We import our pheasant from Kansas where they are reared in a natural habitat and fed a special diet.  These birds are as wild as any you would find in a natural setting. We import our quail from Louisiana and have used them for years with much success. We have large rolling fields for our upland bird hunts.  We work in conjunction with government agencies to establish a natural upland habitat.  Most habitats in our area have been destroyed by normal agriculture practices. By working with these agencies, we have been able to restore a more natural environment comparable to any other in the country.
 

Our professional guides take your group of up to four hunters to one of our fields where the hunts take place. We have almost 1000 acres divided into four different hunting areas making it possible to accommodate sixteen people at one time.  Our dogs usually point about 98% of the birds stocked on your fields for that day.  If there are birds left from previous hunts, you are allowed to harvest these birds at no additional charge. You are also provided with two to three gundogs and a short refreshment break during the hunt. Afterwards, we process your bag and have it ready to put in your cooler for the ride home.
