1. Where is Caney Bottom Lodge & Resort Located?

2. What do I need to bring with me?

 
 

For Duck Hunts:

Shotgun
Shells (Steel Shot Only)
Warm Clothes
Rubber Boots (preferably waders)
Camo Face Mask
Ice Chest
Flashlight
Camera
 
 


For Upland Bird Hunts:

Comfortable (water-resistant) walking shoes
Blaze Orange cap and/or vest (loaner orange available at lodge)
Ice Chest

3. What about my hunting license?                                                                                              TOP

 
 

No License is required for the upland game hunt.
License requirements for duck hunts are listed in the hunt packages.  You can purchase your license online at the Arkansas Fish and Game Commission website or when you arrive at the lodge.

 
         
  4. How large a group can you handle?                                                                                          TOP  
 

The Lodge sleeps up to 22 people. For larger groups, arrangements can be made with one of several hotels that are only minutes away.

 
         
  5. Do you offer group discounts?                                                                                                    TOP  
 

Sure! For groups of 10 or more booked at one time you will receive a 10% discount off the hunting package price, which can be applied any way you like.

 
         
  6. What type of ducks?                                                                                                                   TOP  
  Generally, you will shoot mallards, teal, gadwall, widgeon, wood ducks, and black ducks.  
         
  7. What about shells?                                                                                                                      TOP  
 

Only steel shot for duck hunts, preferable # 2's or # 4's. For upland game birds we suggest # 6's - # 9's. Shells are available for purchase at the Lodge.

 
         
  8. Can I bring my dog?                                                                                                                    TOP  
 

Sure!  Your dog is welcome, but sometimes dogs react differently when introduced to a new environment so we cannot be responsible for your dog’s performance; therefore, the client takes full responsibility for the hunt.

 
         
  9. When is the best time to hunt?                                                                                                     TOP  
 

Duck season runs from mid-November to late January. Upland bird season runs from October 1-March 31. Dove  season opens Labor Day  weekend. Early Teal season opens mid to late September. But, it is never too early to book your hunting package.

 
         
  10. Should I tip my guide?                                                                                                               TOP  
 

Tips are not required, but are greatly appreciated. Our guides work hard to assure you of an exceptional hunting experience. Tips generally range from $5 to $20 per hunter.
