Caney Bottom duck hunting is some of the best duck hunting in the country. Our duck hunts have been featured on Dreammaker Outdoors, a national hunting show, and are scheduled to host more shows in the 2005-06 season.  Arkansas ranked #3 in the country last year in total number of ducks harvested.  This is especially significant in respect to the fact that AR only has duck numbers to speak of in the eastern one-third of the state.  Unlike Stuttgart, which is overcrowded and has high hunting pressure, Caney Bottom Lodge has many acres with only a few people, and we manage our blinds to keep pressure to a minimum.  Furthermore, most trips to Stuttgart begin with a stay in an expensive hotel room and a meal at inflated restaurant prices.  Caney Bottom Lodge has the rooms and excellent meals onsite, and they are included in your hunt packages.  Caney Bottom also has 3600 acres privately owned and privately managed land.  Our clients have no need to worry about running into other large groups when they hunt with us.  We have had many customers who have had the Stuttgart experience, and they booked with Caney Bottom Lodge  the next year.

Caney Bottom has over 600 acres of actual water with over fifteen blinds. We hunt mainly natural backwater ponds.  Our blinds stay in place and allow natural camouflage to grow up around them; this is the ultimate in concealment.  Many of our shots are fifteen yards and closer. We have flooded rice fields with pit blinds but very seldom hunt them because our natural holes are so much more productive.  We mainly hunt in above ground skid type blinds that generally hold four to five hunters plus the guides. All of our hunts are accompanied by our professional hunt staff and include one to two gundogs for retrieving your kill.  They generally last until nine or ten but occasionally until noon.  We usually have mixed bags with mallards, teal, pintails, gadwall, and black ducks.  We have some afternoon wood duck hunts when the conditions are favorable.  Getting from the lodge to the blinds is no problem at Caney Bottom Lodge.  Our staff carries you from the front door all the way to the blind; your walk is usually not over two or three steps. At Caney Bottom Lodge we do not leave our decoys out.  The first year we did this and had over a hundred decoys at every blind –we were not very successful. Our guides now put out the decoys out in the morning and take them up after the hunt.
